This game is a play on cats tendency to knock our precious items off the counter. But, how will that work when the cat is... a chef with her own cooking show?! Try your hand at preparing recipes or just firing ingredients off of the counter if you're sick of looking at 'em.

My Process

I wasn't anticipating being the sole artist on this game, but since we were a small group of only three people, I took charge.

I knew immediately how I wanted the cat character to look, since she was to be based off of my real-life cat. I wanted to keep the art simple, but not too simple so the focus could be her actions, not her appearance. I wanted to keep it easy and colorful, while making it unique yet not too busy.

While creating Chef Mina was a breeze, making the ingredients was not quite as straightforward.

Our professor told me that he wanted our designs to be unique enough, yet still be completely our own. What he meant by this was that he wanted me to gather inspiration sources and draw from those different cartoony and attractive aesthetics. I ended up with four different iterations of the ingredients, and we polled the class to see which designs they liked better.
